morgan state university: #nomadnessrv tour 2013

Words/Photos By: Shavaun Hairston, DC Tribe Member

The Nomadness College Takeover RV pulled into Morgan State University, the first HBCU on the tour,  bright and early on Tuesday morning.  The RV Crew was joined by a few Tribe members from Baltimore and DC to spread the Nomadness throughout Morgan's campus.  Nomadness partnered with the Alpha Gamma chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated to spread the world and raffle off travel goodies.  The energy on Morgan's campus was live and we had so much fun inspiring the student's through our mission.  We hope to see all the new MSU Tribe member soon at our meet ups! Morgan was the perfect start to our 2013 College Takeover. Full steam ahead!

a room of open minds...

I want this feeling again...

I've had a number of conversations over the last few days that have been pushing the Nomadness College Tour into the forefront of the cerebellum.

I'll be reaching out to the Morgan State appointed Nomadness College Reps today and I can't wait to hear their ideas on helping build this outreach leg to the movement.

Shouts to Tribe Member Claire Bear for sending over video and photos from this day on September 17th. Can't believe it's officially been a month. Time is moving.

As I do with the Tribe I'm reaching out to you all. Whether you are a student, faculty member, Study Abroad organizer, Student Activities affiliate, and alum please take the 2 minutes to watch the Nomadness College Tour promo video below and send it to whomever you see fit to help get us to your present or former college campus. Thanks loves!

There is nothing as motivational as eager minds. Please pass along.

Nomadness College Tour 1st Stop: Morgan State University

This weekend had me en route to Baltimore, Maryland. Used to going through it, on the way to DC, I found myself spending the whole day at Morgan State University. One of the most amazing Tribe members, Lynn Middleton, got her Deltas together on the campus and they sponsored the first stop on the Nomadness College Tour. The gratitude I have for Morgan State is immeasurable right now. They took a chance on me. In one school day, I spoke in two Enterpreneur classes, and killed the main event of the evening. From 7-9pm, in the Student Center, I was gifted with the open minds and open hearts of over 100 Morganites. They heard my story, my fears, my inspirations, my lessons....my life.

I had nearly a two hour conversation with the director of their Study Abroad department.

Below are two hysterical clips of the 'Stereotypes' portion of the evening presentation. Enjoy, and please spread the word. If you are a student and would like to have Nomadness roll through your campus please feel free to contact me through the 'contact.' tab above.

Much gratitude sent to Lynn, William, Sharita, Michelene, Mr. Niba, and Shade for Skyping in all the way from Kazakhstan. Amazing, amazing, experience...
