Petal-N-Belles is a non-profit that started in 2010 by two very amazing women that I've been able to come across over the last year. Visionaries Damali Elliott, and E. Isis Adewale put their minds together and created a haven of empowerment for young women ages 12-22. Below is an excerpt from the introduction letter that was sent out this week. I'm sharing this with everyone to showcase positivity in the neighborhood among peers. Feel free to peruse their site and find ways you feel you can give to the cause!

Petals-N-Belles, Inc. is dedicated to providing young women, ages 12-22, with an authentic mentoring
experience. Through mentorship and social guidance, Petals-N-Belles works to build and enhance the
overall personal growth, individual development and well being of young women. Our programs and
curriculum have been designed to inspire, empower and cultivate young women, especially those in
need. Every young woman deserves encouragement, motivation and the right to be heard. Through
Petals-N-Belles, we promise to guide our women to continue to cultivate their greatness, exercise
their right to dream boldly and reach any goal they set out to achieve.

As a non-profit organization, it is essential that we build strong ties within our communities and
form long lasting relationships with like-minded individuals who not only believe in our mission, but
will stand behind this mission and help support it. Petals-N-Belles programming is set to launch in
February 2011. We will begin with 18 amazing young women and take them through the first phase
of the Petals-N-Belles curriculum. But first, we need your help. There are countless ways that you
can contribute to the success of this organization. In the coming weeks, we will begin an aggressive
marketing and fundraising campaign and, as many of know, the most powerful form of marketing is
word of mouth.
