Union Square rally pouring into the streets to march down 14th Street

Trayvon's Family making their way through the crowd

I've been in many a demonstration/rally/march since living in New York City, yet I've never experienced the likes of what I did last night. With hoodies, beginning at Union Square, thousands...tens of thousands... were out marching for justice in the name of the Trayvon shooting. Up 6th Avenue, around 23rd street, through the park, onto the front of City Hall, past the Brooklyn Bridge, and down Wall Street. A culmination of walking that had to take up about 50 blocks, with chanting, spirit, anger, and invigoration all happening at the same time. This young boy's life, has become representative of something so much more. My heart goes out to the family and m strength goes out to the fight for justice.
