As a woman who, sadly, has had to leave a number of past boyfriends behind in my own personal pursuit to see the world, this photo project that Murad Osmann has put together touches my heart.
Starting in Barcelona, in October 2011, Osmann and his girlfriend have been to dozens of countries and taking their noted 'follow me' photo in each place. This is an amazing declaration of love, travel, and adventure. Three of my favorite things. In a less artistically literal form, I look forward to this moment with someone in my life.

Got notified that this photo above "Ocean Front" that I took while in Panama last week, won a contest on Bungolow.com. So cool. I think this is the best way to kick off the blast for my travel photography. Whether it's member cards for the Tribe, the next batch of T-shirts, everything all the funds raised go to help fuel the continued movement forward.
Please support! Even buying one photo makes a difference! CHECK OUT THE PANAMA PHOTOS HERE!
Hustling for Panama!
So the dates are set January 15th to 22nd, 2012.
The Nomad•ness Travel Tribe is taking their first ever group trip together and we're headed to Panama. This trip is going to be crazy, and I cannot wait to share the footage with you all, introducing the Tribe to the world. The group, as I have said before, is a dream come true. A vision manifested, and it's going to be amazing to be abe to sit back and hear the conversations, witness the interactions, and soak in the atmosphere as Nomad•ness keeps bringing strangers together all around the world, extending everyone's families, one traveler at a time.
To help get my portion of the funding together, to guarantee that 'Chief Rocka' of the Tribe is there I'm going on a photo blitz! I'll pretty much be shoving that 'DONATE' Button to the right, and my exquisite traveliing photos down everyone's timelines, status updates, and throats for a week or so. I ask you to bare with me.
Check the traveling photos of my journey's around the world HERE! I'll even sign one if you like!
Thank you for all the continued support! Did I mention, I can't wait for the day this project is fully funded?! It's coming. I FEEL IT!
Last night was Fashion Night Out and I have to say, I was impressed. I don't know how it was uptown, but it was a damn spectacle in SoHo.
Everyone was everywhere. Stores were handing out free liquor and free snacks. Vince. had a candy bar that was to die for. It was pretty dope.
Started at Top Shop (of course) and met with Ali and Sheila. Then headed to Vince. to surprise the man behind the lense of @flylifeimages my friend, Pete. Vince. is where they even had a free photo booth set up when you could go in, and do what you do....so, Pete and I did. Two Photographers. One Booth. Sounds like the name of a porno somewhere.
I left the likes of Prince Street to attempt the Kardashian mob on Spring. I apparently saw the back of Khloe's head amonst the massive crowd that bled from DASH to MAC, two store fronts behind.
My night concluded, at EXPRESS, to support another friend, Nick Brown from MTV's The Real World Hollywood, on his appearance/interview. EXPRESS was rocking all night with America's Next Top Models.
All in all, an experience to tell the Grandkids one day, and a great precursor to Halloween...for sure.

For all the camera holders out there...today's fundraising day is repping all the photographers out there that I know!
Now a days everyone has a camera and is a self-proclaimed photographer. Yet, it takes a certain few with a clear style, creative vision, and tenacity to get the perfect shot, that separates the true photographer from the rest. Below is a shot list of photographers that I've worked with, to some capacity, and who I feel embody the traits above. Check out their links, specifically for what qualities make their work unique. All dope in their own right.
Check 'em out y'all!

Art Basel is one of those amazing arts shows, that doesn't happen in New York City, so it pains every time I re-remember it. Pains me because I tend to remember it within a week of its happening. Just because I can't go, doesn't mean you can't. Here I am to inform you, and to swear by this site that I will do what needs to be done in order to get there for next year.
I mean damn, even if for no other reason, who doesn't want to get out of New York City cold (in December) to enjoy art on the beaches of Miami? (Hand raising.) The first time I heard about it, was sadly, when I couldn't attend to see my own video displayed there. 'Stress' was a part of the festivities three years back.
So here are the details....

About an hour ago, I was contacted via Facebook from an old college associate who, truthfully, I spoke to more in passing. It's funny how Facebok truly brings everyone together like that.
In a private message, she made me aware of this foundation, Friends Without a Border. It's an organization that is raising money to help give funding to the Children's Hospital of Angkor Wat, in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
For those interested, and able, there are events being held on October 23rd, 2010 and an art opening on December 7th, 2010, where all proceeds go towards the hospital. I am currently working on what I will need to make happen, so that I can be in attendance, in accordance with my invite, for the dinner on October 23rd.
As it radiates from my blogs (many more to come), Cambodia really took a piece of me. The short time I spent there opened my eyes to the reality of where they need help, and the abundance of hope the Cambodian people have regardless of their situation. I loved this place. Siem Reap was probably my favorite part of this trip, since leaving NYC on August 29th. Whatever I can do, within my own limitations, I will wholeheartedly.
For those of you who cannot attend any of the events, but would like to donate, even $1, you can HERE!
I am also announcing, right now, in this very blog post, a pledge.
**FOR EVERYONE WHO PURCHASES ONE OF MY TRAVEL PHOTOS, FROM CAMBODIA, I WILL DONATE $3 FROM EACH CAMBODIA PHOTO PURCHASE DIRECTLY TO FRIEND WITHOUT A BORDER. YOU WILL BE SUPPORTING TWO CAUSES.**
You can check the photos out HERE. You can purchase any size, and my donation will not vary.
Thanks everyone!
So, in trying to find ways to make money on this trip, it's approaching week three, money is being spent, yet it's still a dilemma for some to figure out how to get it coming in. There is a potential for work over the next two weekends, something everyone is hoping for, yet it's a case of us not knowing until we get there.
In trying to be as efficient with energy and time as possible, it makes more sense to try to find ways to make money remotely, earning the US dollar, rather than working an 8 hour day in Thailand, making the equivalent of $30 a day. I could sell two smaller travel photos and make a days work here.
So, in my mind I'm trying to mesh the two. The businesswoman has emerged, and I woke up this morning with a goal on my mind. 100 photos. I don't know where the number came from, but it spoke to me. As did the feeling in my gut that reassured me that the photography may be the gateway. Trust your hustle. So, I created this flier below, have already sold a photo, and am leaving the rest up to the Universe to have it all work out. I believe in the images, and I believe in myself. Sometimes that's all you have, and all you need.
It's really here, and I'm trying not to think on it too tough...last day before I head out to Thailand. This time tomorrow I will be on about a 24 hour air trek from JFK to Heathrow, to Hong Kong, and Bangkok International.
Funny because I feel like I'll find some familiarity in both Heathrow and, our final destination, Bangkok. I am very familiar with Bangkok's humungous airport due to it being the site of my transfers from Japan to India. I think that'll help.
So...today's itinerary is to chill and enjoy the city, and Nelson.
1st stop is 5 Points, Queens. He's been trying to get me here for awhile. The site of the best graffiti art in NYC converged on this street.
2nd stop is the Michael Jackson Birthday bash in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. The entire city comes together for the life of a legend.
Had a shoot with one of my favorite Evierobbie photo supporters! When TreZure and I get together it is always a good time...her energy, daring nature, and flawless transitions make shooting her a favorite pastime.
Here's a sneak peek from her donation photo shoot.
This is what happens when the boyfriend takes over the camera, and the photographer needs a headshot for Thailand.
I see spots. :)
Today marked the beginning of growth. Nor pink or pretty, it was a legitimate growing pain.
Necessary.
I had my first purchase of six of my travel photos, from the array you see HERE!
It's my first time with this specific printer for something so important so I wanted to get a glimpse of the images first hand before shipping out.
At Adorama on 18th Street, I got the goods. Around 10pm, I'm on the 4 headed home for much needed rest (which I'm obviously not getting now at 2:06am) and to get a glimpse at the photos.
They look phenomenal!!!! Six 8x10s that were so gorgeous they actually started catching the attention of other riders.
"Wait, did you shoot these," she asked me.
"Yea, I did."
"Wow! Is this India?"
"Yea."
"Yes, I recognized it."
"Oh, have you been," I asked.
"No, but I could tell."
"Do you travel a lot?"
"Yes. I just got back from Brazil," she answered without hesitation.
"Great. I'm moving to Thailand for three months next week. Actually, let me give you my card. I have a travel blog, and you can see these photos for sale."
"I'll definitely check it out," she said grabbing the card. "Safe travels!"
"You too," I uttered.
Shot these today in Brooklyn...Check out the homie Julian, self proclaimed next generation Tyson Beckford. He's a character.
Follow him on twitter @madeofprotein
Peace.
No, not in the Larry Flint exclusive.
As in the character trait that has probably gotten me the farthest in my career aka. how I'm making money for Thailand.
The donation photo shoots have been moving along nicely. I'm preparing for another one in a few hours. I have a number of them, literally leading up to the day before departure.
Here's to the hustler's spirit that will definitely be getting me through Thailand, with probably not one but many jobs.
In an effort to help my cause of raising money for my trip with Jet Set Zero, my best friend Jason booked a shoot with me. In the wee hours of the night, Jason, two bottles of paint, and I created some dope art. Above are just a few photos from tonight's great shoot. Amazing!
Check Jason's blog out HERE!
A thank you to Jason and the rest of you out there booking shoots before I leave.
My first email came through rather quickly when I started sending out information pertaining to the donation based photo sale I have going on. More info on that HERE!
My first communication came from someone I'd never met in person, but had more of an online presence with back when Myspace was the craze. How times have changed. I was booked immediately to cover a fundraising event being held on the beach in Coney Island.
I didn't know what I was in store for. I arrived on the beach, overdressed as one can imagine, to find blankets put together amongst an array of beautiful Black women. Different ages, sizes, shapes, but all educated and world traveled. As a young African-American I find it hard to find other minorities that I can talk to in regards to travel. This is a huge part of my movement with Nomad•ness.
The mentality that I find within our people is that of stagnation, especially in parts of New York. The 'hood' mentality, regardless of where you are, is such a detriment.
When I travel, I don't see us. Period. This is something that will be touched upon in the next episode of Nomad•ness as well. Yet, here I was in a group of women who had traveled the globe as much as me, if not more, in search of self, meditation practices, and holistic lifestyles. These women brought a smile to my face at a time when I couldn't on my own. I thank them for that.
My going to meet them was more than just a photo shoot, and collection of donations. It was an environment of women I needed to be around in order to be lifted up.
Thank you.
and I found my travel partner for Morocco next year! Word!
